Chumash (Torah)
We will study one Torah portion in Genesis with the commentary of Rashi and Ramban. (Nachmanides)
This course will emphasize how to study the text and Rashi's and Ramban's commentaries.
Halachah (Jewish Law)
We will study the basic Jewish law using the text of Sefer Hamitzvot Hakatzar. This book, which contains all of the mitzvot relevant to today’s Jew, will be explored with emphasis on understanding the basic laws of each mitzvah and its philosophical meaning and underpinning.
Hashkafa (Perspective, Morals, and Ethics)
This class will be taught by various prominent lecturers and will cover several topics including the Torah's ideal of ethical behavior, how to incorporate these concepts into your life, how to infuse your daily life with spirituality, and how to meet the challenges of living in a non-Jewish and mostly secular world.
Hebrew (Ulpan)
An optional ulpan to teach and improve your Hebrew language skills taught by an experienced ulpan instructor.
Kosher Cooking and Baking
This class will offer Challah baking skills, basic Kosher cooking methods, and basic laws and customs of keeping kosher taught by experienced home chefs.
